Rozemaryn van der Horst was born and raised in The Netherlands.   She came to Hawaii in 1978.   She first made batiks of hula dancers with dyes she made of local bark, leaves, fruits, rinds and flowers of plants.   She then turned to making quilts around 1990 and continues to do that.

Rozemaryn's art training started at an early age with private lessons and she still will take a class if it looks interesting.
